Club Meetings, Events & Tours

The Club meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Sedona Public Library at 3250 White Bear Rd. The meeting begins with club business discussion, usually followed by a guest speaker, and concluded with treats and a social gathering


Tours & Events Director schedules the car cruises, lunches, parades and other fun activities. The following calendar is the most up-to-date list of what is scheduled so far.

January

1/03 - Board Meeting

1/08 - Club Meeting: This month's speaker was Liz Waters from American International Insurance Company talking about their classic car insurance, as well as, some of their other products.

1/17 - Douglas Mansion Tour & Lunch at Cork & Catch

February

2/05 - Board Meeting

2/12 - Club Meeting: This month's speaker was, club member, Victoria Clark showing the group some of her collection of Arizona-related post cards. Mike Clark showed the group some of his gas station post cards.

2/28 - Mingus High School Auto Shop Tour & Lunch TBD

3/09 - 49th Annual St Patrick's Day Parade: The annual Sedona St. Patrick's Day parade is a favorite event for the Sedona Car Club. The weather was spectacular, and lot's of fun was had by all. Following the parade, it was a short jaunt to Cafe Jose for lunch.

3/12 - Club Meeting: This month's speakers were club members, Zelda Bailey and Pat Tucci. They are long time Studebaker Avanti owners and gave us an overview of the car's history. Many of us are Studebaker fans but did not have an appreciation for the car's various incantations. Very informative.

April

4/05 - Car Display at Sedona Library then lunch at Nick's

4/09 - Club Meeting: This month's speaker was Amanda O'Halloran from the Arizona Automobile Theft Authority. Amanda's talk was very informative. The AATA performs a variety of services that help prevent auto theft. Many of us purchase vehicles "by owner" which can come with a variety of pitfalls. The AATA can help educate us to what to watch for and help prevent unfortunate outcomes.

5/14 - Club Meeting: This month's speaker was Roger Naylor, Arizona's renown travel author. Roger's talk this evening was about the "The Amazing Kolb Brothers of The Grand Canyon". Very entertaining and informative.

5/19 - "Almost" Mother's Day Brunch at Junipine: This year was cool, cloudy and rain was threatening. So, we dined inside instead of enjoying the patio at The Table at Junipine. Our thanks the restaurant staff for a job well done. The club always enjoys coming up to Junipine...!

8/13 - Club Meeting: This month's speaker was Gary Jordan from the Arizona Rangers. Some very interesting Arizona history.

8/15 - Sharlot Hall Museum & lunch at Leff-t's Steak House, Prescott: This month's event was a little road trip to the Sharlot Hall Museum in Prescott. The weather was spectacular, and lot's of fun was had by all. Following the museum tour, it was a short jaunt to Leff-T's Steak House in Dewey. Thanks, Arny, for putting this outing together.

9/10 - Club Meeting: This month's speaker was Janeen Trevillyan, local historian for the Sedona Heritage Museum. Janeen's talk this evening was about early architecture in Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon. Very entertaining and informative.

10/08 - Club Meeting: This month's speaker was Loyd Barnett about Arizona's Changing Climate. Very entertaining and informative.

11/07 - 3rd Annual Car Display at Austin House Assisted Living (Cottonwood): The folks at Austin House Assisted Living in Cottonwood hosted our 3rd annual car display. There was free food, and KKLD was broadcasting live giving out free prizes. The residents seem to have a great time looking at all the cars. It was a fun event.

11/12 - Club Meeting: Ted Grussing, a local photographer, was this month's speaker. Ted specializes in aerial (glider) photography utilizing our northern Arizona landscape as his palette. Also, Ted loves to capture wildlife action shots. He showed us some of his amazing work. Check out his web site for more information.

12/03 - Board Meeting

12/10 - Christmas Dinner Celebration: This year's annual Christmas party was held at The Golden Goose American Grill. We had a great turnout. As you can see in the following photos, we had lots to discuss, eat and drink. Also, we collected a bunch of new toys that were donated to the Sedona Food Bank.

The Sedona Car Club has made arrangements with Lands End for club members to order clothing and other merchandise with the Sedona Car Club logo.
