Club Meetings

The Club meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Sedona Public Library at 3250 White Bear Rd. The meeting begins with club business discussion, usually followed by a guest speaker, and concluded with treats and a social gathering.

January

1/02 - Board Meeting

1/07 - Club Meeting: This month's speaker was Jan Taylor who presented her experiences rafting The Grand Canyon. Jan's presentation was very entertaining. Some of us "old folks" are only going to experience a trip like this thru someone else's adventures

February

2/06 - Board Meeting

2/13 - Club Meeting: This month's speaker was Emery Littlefield from the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff. Emery is an event coordinator for the observatory and shared the history and many of the astounding discoveries made there. One interesting fact is that the Lowell Observatory is the largest privately funded observatory in the country which allows them the opportunity to conduct unique research that publicly funded institutions may not be able to pursue. The club is going to have to visit the observatory in one of our upcoming events.

March

3/06 - Board Meeting

3/13 - Club Meeting: This month's speaker was Betsy Klein who is one of the founders of the Plan B Foundation . This organization advocates for wolves and wolf-dog hybrids. Betsy brought her two young wolf-dogs to show the group. These guys were a little nervous, but people got the opportunity to see them up close and personal. Betsy and the pack were, also, promoting the Sedona Wolf Week event coming up in April. This will be a great opportunity for people to learn more about wolves and their role in nature.

April

4/03 - Board Meeting

4/10 - Club Meeting: This month we had two speakers, Scott Jablow and Tom Lamkin. Scott and Tom are Sedona City Councilors and came to discuss the City's upcoming traffic improvement plans.

May

5/01 - Board Meeting

5/08 - Club Meeting: We had two speakers at this month's meeting. The first was Bill Chisholm from Sedona Marine Corps League . Bill talked about all the good things the League is involved in. The League is always looking for volunteers interested in participation in a worthwhile organization. The second speaker was Isaac Dudley from Friends of the Verde River. This organization is working to preserve one of the last free flowing rivers in the American Southwest. They, also, have lots of volunteer opportunities for those interested. Also, Mike gave us a status update on the car show planning. Much progress has been made, and we need more volunteers to help out.

9/11 - Club Meeting: This month's speaker was Sedona resident Jamiss Serbert. Jamiss worked for the US Department of State - Passport Office and was Director of the Connecticut Passport Office. She came to tell us all about passports and the renewal process. Best time to renew is Fall...!
