Events and Tours
January
1/23 - Martin Auto Museum & Dinner at the Desert Ridge Keg Steakhouse, Phoenix: This month's event was a trip down to Phoenix to tour the Martin Auto Museum. They have nearly 60 cars on display at any given time. There were some very interesting and rare autos. After the museum tour, we had dinner at the Desert Ridge Keg Steakhouse, and it was yummy.
February
2/20 - Copper Art Museum & Lunch at Nate's Cowboy Cafe (Clarkdale): This month's event was a tour of the Copper Art Museum located in the old Clarkdale High School building. The building is fully restored and houses an amazing collection of copper pieces. There is the complete time-line for the discovery of copper, use in the military, architecture, distillery, religious, and kitchenware. A truly amazing display and collection. It's worth going through a second time when one can spend more time. After the museum tour, we had lunch at Nate's Cowboy Cafe which was just around the corner from the museum on Hwy 89A. Of course, no classic car outing is complete without a minor mechanical hiccup, right David..?
March
3/8 - Litter Lifter
3/15 - 44th Annual St Patrick's Day Parade & Lunch at Up The Creek (Page Springs): March 15th was the day everyone had their "blarney on" for the Sedona celebration of St. Patrick's Day. The parade was small but did not lack any enthusiasm. After the parade, we had cruised over to Page Springs for lunch at Up The Creek Grill & Bar and had a great lunch.
April
4/26 - Mongo's Lunch: The weather in Sedona has been magnificent this year. That is, until April 26th for our planned Car Display at Mongo's Mongolian Bar & Grill. We experienced rain, wind and a little sleet. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the Car Display but still had a great lunch. We'll try again in November.
May
5/11 - Mother's Day Brunch: The weather in Sedona has been "interesting" this Spring. Last month we had rain and sleet for our event. For Mother's Day Brunch, it was sunny, but cool and windy. Around noon, we had a few snow pellets falling on us as we were dining outside on the Junipine Resort Cafe patio. We had 47 people participate which may be a record for Mother's Day Brunch.
June
6/3 - Annual Picnic: The annual club picnic was held, again, at the Chavez Crossing Campground. It was an amazing day. The weather was warm, but there was a cool breeze under the sycamore trees. Ahhhhhhhh, sunny day, cool breeze, great picnic food and cold beer (or wine)...! The food was catered by Rick Kimberly and was great, as usual. You can tell the food was enjoyed because folks were busy eating and ignored the camera.
6/15 - Father's Day Car Display at Sedona Winds & Lunch at PJ's: The Sedona Car Club celebrated Father's Day with a small car display at Sedona Winds. We were well received by many of the residents, and ran into some old friends. A number of the residents are former car club members. Following the car display, we had lunch at PJ's Village Pub located in the Village of Oak Creek.

Summer Hiatus
August
8/23 - Cruise The Canyon & Brunch @ The Table at Junipine: The two recent wild fires in Oak Creek Canyon have hurt the resident businesses. The club took the opportunity between monsoon thunder storms to cruise up the canyon and have brunch at one of our favorites, The Table at Junipine
September
9/20 - Annual Car Show - CANCELLED
9/19-20 - Overnight at La Posada and Rock Art Ranch (Winslow) Tour: A small group of club members spent a marvelous night at La Posada. The facility is beautiful and full of art and history. The food was fabulous. The next morning we toured the Rock Art Ranch which is located south east of Winslow a short distance from La Posada. The owner, Brantley Baird, gave us a personal tour of his fascinating collection of Indian artifacts collected on the property. Also, his museum contains a collection of pioneer and ranching artifacts and memorabilia. Brantley, then, led us to the canyon where we were able to explore the petroglyphs some of which are thought to be 6,000 years old or more. This is, probably, Arizona's best collection of rock art.
October
10/23 - Wine Tasting & Almost Halloween at The Asylum: A small group of club members decided to start their "almost Halloween" evening sampling the wines at Cellar 433. Then it was on to The Asylum to meet up with the rest of the folks for a great dinner and more wine (or other adult beverage). They really do a great job of celebrating Halloween at The Asylum and all over Jerome.
November
11/09 - Seven Canyons Car Display & BBQ: The Seven Canyons Golf Resort invited the Sedona Car Club, again, to participate in their members only BBQ mixer event. The weather and the setting was spectacular. The music provided by Skunky Ron and Eddie Tortorello was very entertaining, as well.
11/15 - Litter Lifter
December
12/06 - Cottonwood Christmas Parade: The Sedona Car Club participated in the Cottonwood Christmas Parade for this month's event. Club members look forward to participating every year, depending on the weather. This year we were following a couple of drill teams that required us to frequently stop and idle. Old cars tend to overheat, unfortunately. Following the parade, we had lunch at Bonsai Bistro and Sushi Bar.
12/09 - Christmas Dinner: This year's annual Christmas party was held at The Golden Goose Cafe. We had a great turnout. As you can see in the following photos, we had lots to discuss, eat and drink. We collected a bunch of new toys that were donated to the Sedona Food Bank.
